Badger Trades

An easy trade tonight in the Colchester vs Southend game and laying the draw with a rapid 3 minute goal got us up somewhere near our exit price and I, probably with most Badger traders got out with slightly less than the stated exit price for fear of an equaliser but the final 2-0 scoreline would have confirmed the trade regardless and that will do very nicely thank you Tony.

Betfair ATM

After viewing and trying a few paper trades I figured the worse I could do with this was break even so I have decided to use my own money based on a £ 10 straight bet on the place markets as this does give a better indication getting matched up in-play and hopefully gain a few beer tokens on route..  I tried out 8 races today and three of which didn’t give me satisfactory indicators so no bets but the remaining 5 all gave me a place dividend at odds of 1.35, 1.50, 1.32, 1.70 & 1.37 making an after commision profit of £ 21.29. The method is getting easier to use the more you use it and for now I am sticking to N.H races being somewhat less frantic. Timing is the key to nailing it above the 1.3 minimum odds and having some scalp trading reaction comes in useful..  I was even more amazed to find that 4 out of the 5 selections actually went on to win their races so time will tell but looking good so far..  I will try to get a couple of days in each week minimum and update as and when..  The system I forgot to mention costs £ 59.99 and is a downloadable PDF.

Badger Trades

I forgot to mention that there was another trade last night from the Badger that ended up okay after things didn’t pan out initially and if you were in the Paltalk room whilst trading you can get advice from other traders on how to get out of a potential losing situation and still make a profit which I believe is one of the keys to trading successfully. The official profit figures based on a £ 100 maximum trade (bearing in mind many trades use much less), for January 2010 is £ 504.55 and at £27.00 pcm further confirms that this service continues to represent excellent value for money averaging around £500 profit pcm since the start in August 2009.  The main aim for my posts is to show that it can consistently build a relatively small starting bank, with patience, to a decent level over the longer term despite the fact that not all of the trades are successful and we will have losing runs.

There were 2 more lays tonight @ 4.0 & 3.6 one won and one lost for a loss on the night of 2.05pts, so the total now is a loss of 10.75pts.

I think that they have extended the free trial for another 14 days so we will keep on going.

I did mention that quite a few of the daily tips actually were winning their matches but Paul doesn’t have any figures as they are purely for trading purposes only and based on the the differing strengths that players may have on various surfaces and match conditions..  In terms of trading though you can always work the figures during the game so that more of any traded profit made during a game set or a whole match can be placed on the likely winner and therefore often improving ones return.. excuse the pun..

Badger Trades

A couple of trades today on the Badger front both in the Chelsea game with the first lay the draw with an easy exit and the second trade laying the over 3.5 goals which did hit its stop loss after 2 pretty quick goals but for those who stayed in maybe after riding the LTD profit would have got the biscuits.  I personally matched up a free bet selection profit before the first goal and then hedged out for a low risk profit after the second goal price came in so each to his own and profit is profit..  The stop losses as mentioned before are only advised as this is difficult to nail down as everyones attitude to risk is different so it is very much encouraged along the lines for people to decide on what they ultimately feel comfortable with which is something you do need to decide before a trade begins and I do often find the mood you are in can and does play a vital role in your decision making ability.

There were 3 bets today all advised EW, one VSF and the other 2 were SF bets.

The first bet was unpl at 6/1, our 2nd bet was beaten in a photo finish at 5/1 (I took 7/1) and the 3rd bet was 3rd at 5/1.

So a loss on the day of 0.63pts which could so easily have been a lot better if the 2nd bet had won, the total now is a profit of 2.55pts

Favourites Phenomenon ( FP ) System

Back in the early days of the blog, back on the old blogger blog infact we managed to fail this system which is quite remarkable considering the claimes made by the website.

  2006 2007 2008 2009
Jan + 28.0 pts + 30.0 pts + 28.0 pts + 16.0 pts
Feb + 9.5 pts + 28.0 pts + 3.1 pts + 12.0 pts
Mar - 6.5 pts + 31.0 pts + 28.0 pts + 18.0 pts
Apr + 0.1 pts + 28.0 pts + 29.0 pts + 4.0 pts
May + 11.2 pts + 31.0 pts + 27.0 pts + 14.0 pts
Jun + 30.0 pts + 30.0 pts + 23.0 pts - 8.0 pts
Jul + 30.0 pts + 31.0 pts +0.1 pts - 5.0 pts
Aug - 6.5 pts + 31.0 pts + 24.0 pts + 19.0 pts
Sep + 29.0 pts + 30.0 pts + 3.0 pts - 12.0 pts
Oct + 31.0 pts + 19.0 pts - 21.0 pts + 3.0 pts
Nov + 30.0 pts + 16.1 pts + 8.0 pts + 20.0 pts
Dec + 26.0 pts + 28.0 pts + 19.0 pts + 15.0 pts

I always keep aneye on systems we have trialled in the past, especially the ones we have approved because normally a short test only gives a flavour and can prove rather inconclusive. I think its only fair that I revist this system as it does get favourable reviews on the other racing blogs I read.

The FP system is basically a glorified SAW ( Stop at a Winner) system but has a few added quirks to make it profitable.

The system is very simple and I don’t want to give it away but basically we are backing certain favourites to win and I will be using a 200 point bank to cover a maximum of 9 races per day, and setting my target at £10 per day.

Today the job was done in the first race;

13:30 Musselburgh, Candy Creek 11/10 Stake £9.09  WON Return £19.09

Profit after 1 day = 1 point

Just a couple of bits of information in between..  You will need a one click submission software to use this system and Michael uses Fairbot which I personally can confirm is a reliable enough piece of kit and does have a free trial offer.  Because of the lower odds the system targets on the place market then a high strike rate will need to be maintained and 80% seems a typical example of what to expect.  I have noticed that this does need a little practice as timing is all important but it’s like anything once you have mastered and gained a feel then you can expect an improved performance.  Michael does one-one training in the advanced methods and his last couple of BF screenshots he sent for two days trading have been for $34 & $61..

Psychic Soccer

There were 3 lays for Sat @ 3.7, and the other 2 at 4.5 one of the 4.5 lays won the match so there was a loss of  1.6pts on the day and this makes the total so far a loss of 8.7pts.

At the moment I just cant see them getting this back before the end of the trial which is in another 4 days, and the other worrying thing is they have now set up a forum which they have stated that it may be best if you trade out of the lay at the 85th min of the game.

The reason that they have said this is beacuse they have noticed that losing lays recently have gone wrong near the end of the game, including Sats game.

This was being touted as a lay service now its a lay then trade out service and god only knows what they will be wanting you to do next week.

The idea of using a bot is all very good as you can of course set it up to suit yourself and therefore dont need to be in front of a computer all of the time, but they still dont know what the service is going to be yet, and for £50 to £100 per month which is what they appear to be thinking of charging they should already have everything in place.

Lets see how the last few days pan out.

Tradeshark Tennis

Although the daily tips are designed for certain trading strategies to be used based on each players individual strengths I can’t help but notice that a high strike rate for outright winning selections is being achieved with 2 out of 2 winners again for yesterday.  The prices for these aren’t always fantastic and in-play you can often achieve much better odds due to the nature of tennis and price swinging in general..  I also noted useful links to live scoreboards and up to date stats which are very useful as I am devising my own strategies on route and learning the players as part of my daily study and watching 2 – 3 games per day and noting the price movements for the differing scenarios. It has to be said that the Tradeshark site is proving so far to be a very useful and profitable addition in my trading portfolio and have so far covered the initial one off payment of £ 29 quite a few times over in a very short period of time using an initially low level of finantial participation.

There was another lay last night which came through after I turned off the computer and they also won their match at odds of 3.5 so the loss is now 7.1.

The alarm bells are starting to ring as he is now saying that the bot will be able to trade out for a profit rather than let the game run until the 90 mins are up.

I think there are still 5 days to go and he needs to polish up his crystal ball to get this back on track.
