Psychic Racing Profits

For the last 29 days we have been testing the Psychic Racing Profits selections which is a laying system coupled with their bot to place the lay bet preciseley 1 min before the scheduled off time.

The maximun odds for each lay is 5.0 or 4/1 on betfair, this maximum price of 4/1 does at least mean that when you hit a winner you dont do your brains in by laying something at a crazy price.

What you do have to understand though is that you will have your share of lays that will win their races quite simply because you are laying the horses at the front end of the market, but at least there should be plenty of liquidity.

Here are the figures for the testing period;

Total Selections: 73
Total Winning Lays: 52
Total Losing Lays: 21
Strike Rate: 71.2%
Highest Odds: 4.90
Lowest Odds: 1.62
Average Odds: 3.22
Longest Winning Run: 10
Longest Losing run: 3

Starting Bank: £1,000.00
Current Bank: £1,469.63
Profit: £469.63

These figures are very good for less than a 1 month period but I do have a couple of concerns.

Firstly you are using their bot to place the bets just before the off time and I know that they had problems with their football laying bot, so you need to be absolutely certain that its going to work correctly before you start to use it otherwise you could be laying horses that you should be leaving.

Secondly their staking for each lay is 5% of your bank per lay, so if you hit a 4/1 winner you will then lose 20% of your bank and I dont care who you are that will definitely hurt.

For me the staking is far too aggresive and amount to be used per lay bet should be dropped to a more realistic level of say 1% or 2% and build the profits up slower.

Using 2% stakes would have given you an increase of about 18.5% on the bank which is not to be sniffed at and also wouldnt have been too traumatic when that 4/1 winner came along which it certainly will do.

Over the 29 day trial the system performed well and made a nice profit, but the bot also needs to perform and I would also want the stakes to be reduced to a more realistic and less aggresive level.

Having said that and assuming everything works ok I would have to say that its most certainly worth considering and would put it in the Approved section.

I dont yet know how much this will cost, but when I get those figures I will of course put them on the site.

Update 18 April

As you all know a few days ago the trial with Psychic Racing finished and I highlighted a couple of concerns that I had with this service, and I also said that I would report back when I knew what the cost was going to be.

Well I have been bombarded with affilate emails and also the sales pitch email from Psychic themselves telling us what fantastic results have been acheived using this laying system.

I have a problem with that, and the problem I have is that with their email you also get a video from Scott who is the author, he tells us just how much you would have made using this method.

But what he forgets to tell you is that you must place your lay bets at precisely 1 min before the official off time not before and not after.

But in his sales pitch email to me he says “Feel free to place your selections the morning before the racing start”

Wait a minute Scott you cant do that, the rules you set during the trial were that it must be exactly 1min before the official off time, and we both know that some horses who won their races were eliminated by you, as they were according to you trading bigger than 4/1 on Betfair at exactly 1min before the off time, and the results you are shouting about are acheived by using this 1min rule.

You will of course also need to use a bot and there is no mention of that either.

I have sent quite a few email to Psychic Racing and his affiliates asking them why this 1min rule and the use of a bot have been forgotten and so far I have not had a reply.

I also trialed the Psychic Soccer and to be perfectly honest that was a fiasco as they kept changing it, it went  from a lay service to a trading out service, and also mentioned in the racing video is that this system is also great for trading out, sounds familiar.

I know that Scott came onto this site a little while ago to peddle his wares and I would like him to come back on and explain why the criteria for this system has been changed.

The cost of this PDF is £37 but I wouldnt advise anybody to touch it and would like Sam to take this out of the Approved and put this into the Failed category.

I am a surprised that Psychic Racing was so profiable.
Were you staking on an increasing bank?
With a 71% success rate equalling 67.5 pts profit after 5% deduction devided by the 29 lost races gives average break-even Betfair Price of 2.3+1=3.3 which is only fractionally higher than the average you quote.

The stats on this system appear to be on a knife-edge and a slightly reduced success rate would put this system into loss.

    Hi Hugh
The staking for their system is to always bet 5% of your bank so the stakes will move up and down according to the size of your bank.
You are correct Hugh that at level stakes its just about in front but using their staking method it did in fact make the profits claimed.
As I said in my last post I thought that the staking was too aggresive and it doesnt suit me, but the trial using their methods was profitable.
