I thought I better post an update about this service or rather lack of it. Now, before I start I may be jumping the gun and I may be totally wrong but something doesn’t seem right here as the results have completly disappeared from the site which to me isn’t a good sign. Also, when I check the links section I see a link to a blog called professional punter, when I clicked this it is the diary of a professional punter, none other than Iain Lewington. There is also the option to join a select betting syndicate for £50 per month, my advice is to completly avoid this at all costs, simply because it is a complete unknown. I have send Iain Lewington two emails about this but as yet have had no response, because of this have adjusted the category that Winning Selections belongs to accordingly.

I am getting a load of junk through from this guy of late promoting different systems and services which seems very odd for someone who used to run what was a respectable enough review site but I guess there are plenty of easier opportunities to profit in this business if one puts their principles to one side. I am also getting stuff from other people at the same time so it would seem your email address is never safe despite what they say..
I joined this service at half-price and it did do well for a month or so but now I just look at the poor selections and am grateful that I didn’t actually lose anything. Lewington has promised a return of fees if he doesn’t make a profit between 22 Jan and 30 April. He has now changed from level stakes to recommended stakes in a bid to recover heavy losses no doubt. I would avoid this person like the plague. Google him and see what comes up!
Obviously John’s views and not those of Onlineracingreview, every system or service is tested here on its own merits, peoples alleged pasts arent taken into account
today for the first time it will not let me log in for the selections, he was sending them by email but this stopped last week.
results have also been taken down with a note of pending.
Does anybody have information as to whether Iain Lewington has gone to ground…… No selections on his website this morning, which just suggested that current members contact him as soon as possible. I have sent him three emails so far today, and have not received any response.
His selections have not been doing very well of late, and instead of using the level stakes that he has always previously advocated, just over a week ago he started advocating a stepped up points system – basically the stronger he rated a selection the more points he advocated. I viewed this change with some scepticism, as it looked like chasing losses, so I continued with level stakes. The system has continued to lose, and anybody who followed his stepped up points system will have lost a significant amount of money since the beginning of the month.
Back in January he sent his customers an email regarding the system, and gave an assurance that if the system was not in profit at end of April, he would refund all subscription fees paid.
I sent him an email recently to inform him that I was going to continue with level stakes, and hoped that because he had changed the betting strategy, I hoped that the refund offered if the system was showing a loss at end April would still stand. I received an assurance from him that the refund would still be honoured.
Unless the system shows a extreme turnaround of fortune, it is extremely unlikely that it will be in credit at month end, and (unless I am jumping the gun) it would appear that Iain has realised this, and gone to ground.
I hope I am wrong, but having now googled him it would appear that he is a conman, and this will not be the first time that he has done this type of thing.
You obviously have some suspicions, having now moved his system into the failed category. Did you not think to look into his previous background when he first presented this system for testing?
Vic as I have stated more times than enough, each system or service is tested on its own merit irregardless of peoples history. People ask me to test things, and I try and get them tested, if you have been paying by paypal I suggest you get onto them or your bank or whatever to see where you stand if you have doubts.
I do my best to highlight scams and bad products when I see them.
Sam,
Surely his past history should have been taken into account, particularly as it related to the betting industry. At the very least it should have rang alarm bells, and Iain’s dubious past could have been referred to, and then let readers of your website make up their own minds. However, my previous comments were not meant to point a finger at you guys, it was me that made the decision to subscribe to his system, and the system was also recommended by TAPS as well.
Yesterday evening, having wondered all day what was going on, Iain eventually sent out a bullshit type of email with all sorts of excuses for the bad performance of his system. He is now taking time out and will re-start again on 01 May. He has offered all existing customers a three month extension to their membership.
As previously mentioned Iain offered to refund all membership fees if the system was not showing a profit at end April. The system is not currently showing a profit, and being as there will not be any further selections this month, that will be the situation on 30 April.
I have emailed Iain and requested my membership fees back, and am awaiting his response. My advice to his present customers is to do the same.
I fully concur with the comments that JAG made on 07 April and strongly suggest that existing customers read his comments, which should ring alarm bells.
I am just pleased that his system is now in the failed category, where it belongs.
Sam,
Any reason why my comments have been removed?
Regards,
Vic
Hi Vic, your comments werent removed, I have the site set up that I have to approve every comment posted by someone unless they are the author of the thread, I was at work all day and am only just getting to this now so sorry about the delay in your comments appearing.
Firstly I appreciate where your coming from but I can’t believe everything I read on Google, whether it be true or not, the reason being that I know for fact some of the stuff on there is due to a fallout between Iain and a betting system vendor.
I also have to be careful that this website is not slanderous so try to make sure that anything I say is backed up by fact- I hope you understand where I’m trying to come from.
I will do a mailshot tonight highlighting this thread to anyone who may be interested
I joined the Iain lewington service when it had a ROI of 20+% and it continued to perform for a while. The selections were posted the night before racing and were pretty good. He then started to change the timing of the selections to 11.00am on the actual day and started sending emails with the selections. Then he stopeed sending emails but kept posting the selections to his website. The performance was all the time going downhill and lo an behold the ROI vanished from the site. I emailed him about this and they reappeared!
I requested my subs fee be refunded as I had extended twice (based on the good early performance) and I was concerned over the constant changing of selction timing, number, staking etc. He replied back with “gambling is risky..” to which I was not very happy and emailed him again. This time he said selections were going to be released the night before. This was the case for a few days before his going away until the 1 May! I agree that he has not returned a profit as stated up to the end of April so I’m going to request a refund again.
Vics comments are spot on regarding this.i got in touch by e-mail straight away with an immediate response back from Ian with what Vic stated.I was lucky as i paper traded and could see with all the changes this was going nowhere.!st month posted a 10pt profit then it was downhill from then on.No way will he make a profit by end of April so i do not expect to hear anything from him from now on and certainly there will be no refund.I have put this down now as a £90 loss for me.He’ll appear again though under a different name.
My experience with Winning Selections has been exactly the same as Darren’s and John’s. Fortunately, seeing the writing on the wall, I stopped following his tips before my previous profits had completely disappeared. The final straw for me was when he invited me to join his ‘exclusive betting syndicate’, more or less admitting that the Winning Selections were second-class and his best tips were being witheld for himself and a favoured few. I, like your other correspondents, eagerly look forward to the return of my subscription on April 30th, also to hell freezing over and pigs taking to the air.
I am pleased that recent comments are on a par with mine. However, credit where credit is due, and I have actually received a £90 refund from Iain. It took a couple of emails, and also a reminder of the content of the email that he sent towards the end of January, which specifically promised a refund if the system was showing a loss at end April.
Sam, Thanks for your comments, which were appreciated. I fully understand that you cannot believe everything that you read on google, and your mention of a personal fallout could go some way to explaining the vitriol directed towards Iain. I did actually think that some of the language used against him should not have been allowed, even if previous claims against him were justified.
Anyway, as mentioned previously I would advise present customers to request their subscription fee back. Jack has actually hit the nail on the head regarding Iain inviting his present customers to join his ‘exclusive betting syndicate’ . Winning Selections was supposed to include the best of the tips that Iain supposedly gets from other sources, so why this other offer?
do not touch this service with a bargepole i have requested a refund of my subscription as per terms and conditions i.e if you fail to make a profit. NO reply. no selections , non worthwhile, tested over seven months bank completeley lost. another chancer no doubt will turn up again under another guise, hope you read this ian ?
I have also been trying to get a refund from Iain, with little success. He fails to aknowledge his promise, even though I have sent it to him to read again. He is moving the goal posts in terms of what he is willing to refund.
Any suggestions?
Gordon if you used a credit or debit card you may be able to apply for a charge back or at least tell paypal if you used them that guarantee wasn’t honoured.
Do not touch this guy with a bargepole, stolen my money as well, no selections after june 16th after another disastrous run…..
i see the winning selections site has now been taken down, bet there is no chance of refunds on the remaining subs that punters have with him.
he is now plugging http://www.Lottowins.co.uk which is his own site.stay clear.
Hi,
Iain Lewington’s email addresses now appear to have been removed as i have tried on a few occasions to talk to him on both winning selections and professional punter, the emails are always returned as undeliverable. It saddens me as i gave him the benefit of the doubt but now realise all the bad press about him is true. Professional punter, .. i think professional scammer.
